What we're looking for
Ordo is a K-12 school food program that connects kitchens, schools, and families to serve fresh, real food made with whole ingredients to kids nationwide. We're growing fast, signing larger contracts, and need someone who can own the school-side experience end to end.
This is not a narrow support role. You are the single point of accountability for every school account you own — from the moment a contract is signed through the life of the partnership. Your north star is account health: schools that are running well, families that are ordering, and districts that see real value in what Ordo delivers. You have real latitude to solve problems and make accounts successful. You are not hand-tied to a ticket queue.
Schools are institutions with regulations, politics, and strong opinions. You know how to navigate that — building trust with administrators, staying calm when things go sideways, and keeping service running without making anyone feel steamrolled.
What you'll do
Launch & Onboarding
Own the school launch process from signed contract to first day of service.
Coordinate with our chefs on kitchen readiness and service logistics.
Run school-side setup: staff training, ordering system configuration, parent and family communications.
Set the tone for the entire year — the first week matters.
Ongoing Account Management
Own account health for every school in your portfolio: NPS, order volume, and retention.
Monitor service quality and flag issues before they escalate.
Maintain strong relationships with school administrators and district contacts.
Triage and resolve issues quickly, pulling in Food Ops & Compliance when audits or regulatory flags are involved.
Feed insights back to product, operations, and leadership.
Who you are
A natural relationship manager. You build trust with administrators, stay consistent under pressure, and are the person schools call when something is wrong — because they know you'll fix it.
Relentlessly detail-oriented. You remember the specifics of past conversations, notice when something doesn't add up, and follow through on what you say you'll do.
Assertive but adaptable. You can hold firm when it matters and flex your style depending on who you're talking to — a cautious district administrator requires a different approach than a hands-on school principal.
Comfortable with ambiguity. Schools are complex environments. You make good decisions without complete information and build process as you go.
Strong communicator across channels. You're equally effective on the phone, over email, and in person. Clear, consistent, and deliberate about what you say and who needs to hear it.
Willing to travel. This role involves regular site visits — walking lunch lines, attending launch days, and being physically present when it matters.
Startup-minded. You've worked in or around high-growth companies, ideally where operations meet software.
