Generalist

Build new functions from 0-1: Own the creation and initial scaling of new business functions as needed - whether that's product management, partnership development, new market expansion, or other strategic initiatives

Lead cross-functional strategic projects: Take on the company's biggest, messiest problems that don't fit neatly into existing roles. You'll be the person who can work across teams to drive complex initiatives forward

Work directly with founders: Partner with leadership on high-priority strategic initiatives, new business opportunities, and key decisions that shape the company's direction

Problem-solve in ambiguous situations: Tackle undefined challenges where there's no playbook. You'll need to figure out the right approach, build the framework, and execute the solution

Scale what works: Once you've proven out a new function or initiative, help hire and transition ownership to dedicated team members, then move on to the next challenge

Drive key business outcomes: Whether it's launching new products, entering new markets, building strategic partnerships, or optimizing key business processes, you'll own meaningful results

You're passionate about Joyful Health's mission – You want to solve real, pressing problems for healthcare providers and are excited by the challenge of building in this space

You have strong 0-1 startup experience –

You're a proven function builder – You've successfully stood up new functions like product management, business development, operations, marketing, or other key business areas

You thrive in ambiguity – You get energized by undefined problems and are comfortable figuring things out as you go. You don't need a detailed roadmap to be successful

You have a "figure it out" mentality – When faced with a new challenge, your first instinct is to dive in and find a way to make it work, even if you've never done it before

You're highly adaptable and entrepreneurial – You can quickly shift between different types of work, from strategic planning to hands-on execution, and you take ownership of outcomes

You're a strong collaborator and communicator – You can work effectively across teams, influence without authority, and clearly communicate progress and insights to stakeholders at all levels

You're comfortable with rapid growth and change – You maintain high standards of execution even as priorities shift and the organization evolves around you
